Lifestyle Update | What would you like from Dees Beautiful Life??

Hey Beauties...
WOW.. what a year it has been for me lately, I apologize for being MIA for so long on the blogging world.. Lets just say the past 18 months/2 years have been extremely challenging so unfortunately the blog has been shelved for the time being while I attempt to straighten out this whole thing called life. Which I must admit has been harder then anticipated and more turbulent then an airplane going through the Bermuda triangle.

Anyway all that being said, I have decided to come back into the world of blogging as quite honestly I have missed you all and feel pretty cut off from the whole beauty world. I'm excited to come back and enjoy all things life and beauty with you all.

To start things off I'm really interested to hear what types of posts you would be interested in reading from me, lifestyle, healthy eating and fitness posts, beauty reviews, if you look back on my last two "update" posts you will see some health issue I have been battling so please let me know if you would like to see some posts on how they have effected me and how I have dealt with them. I don't really know what you would be interested to see from Dees Beautiful Life. I want to have your interests at heart and hope to expand from just beauty posts.

Anyway  I'm back and hopefully I won't disappear again, so please let me know what you would like to see and I look forward to being back in this world of beauty and blogging

See you again very soon!

Just Another Quick Lifestyle Update

Hey Beauties...
So it looks life has found its way of sneaking in and becoming between me and my blog, however I am determined to get back on track and into what I love doing. So I thought I'd give you all just a quick update as to why I haven't been blogging lately in hopes you will understand my absence!

The first and main reason I haven't been able to blog is because I currently have no laptop or computer which makes is hard for me to upload the pictures I desire onto my blog and also writing up posts on my iPad and iPhone is pretty hard. I am currently borrowing a friends laptop to write this post and hopefully get some future posts written up for you lovely lot.

The second and probably most important reason I haven't been able to get back into my blog as I had hoped is because I am still currently working on some major personal issues which I touched on in my previous post which you can catch up on HERE. As well as being busy with my daughter, housework and usual life commitments I have been focusing a lot of time and energy into my fitness and gym training, which you may have noticed if you follow me in instagram dee_scott7 where I have been posting my progress for the past 4-5 months!

I am thinking of adding more lifestyle posts into my blog once I get back on track with it as I feel it will benefit me and will work more around my busy schedule. If there are any type of posts you would like to see from me then please do not hesitate to comment below or tweet me @dee_scott7 and I will work on getting them done for you, that goes for any of the subjects I touched upon in my previous post or if you would like to see some fitness posts in the future. I will continue to do beauty post as and when I can however I cannot set a schedule as of yet.

I hope you understand my absence, and I would like to say a HUGE thank-you to everyone that has stuck around and supported me while I have been gone! Now hopefully lets get this show back on the road and  back to normal!

I'm Back!! But where have I been? | Lifestyle Update

Hey Beauties...
Wow it really has been such a long time! I thought my first post back should be a just a quick update as to what has happened and why I haven't posted in so long. I think I owe you all that much at least, without going into too much boring detail of course.
First of all let me say a massive thank-you to everyone that has stuck around, shown your support, sent messages, a big hello to all you lovely new followers and readers, and a huge apology for my absence.

So where have I been?
In a nutshell I have been dealing with A LOT of personal issues, which I will indulge you in shortly, and decided it needed to take a well deserved break to find myself again, get my head screwed back on and concentrate on the more important things in life, such as my Daughter.

What's been going on?
I wont bore you with too much detail, mostly because it is pretty personal and very long winded. Basically, back in May 2014, me and my FiancĂ© Oli, Tias Dad, split up after almost 7 years together. I wasn't expecting it and to make a very long story short, there was another girl involved. Anyway, he moved out of my house, leaving me and Tia, which was tough enough on its own.
However around that Time, or about a month later, I was diagnosed with Chronic Biological Depression, Anxiety and OCD, so that was quite a huge adjustment to deal with as I was diagnosed 7 years ago with Depression and Anorexia. Just after the split I had lost over a stone in weight in just over 2 weeks and basically since then my year has been getting progressively worse. I realised that because of my OCD, I would get stressed out quite a lot more especially if something wasn't how I wanted it or in my control, which due to my anxiety and Depression would cause me to sleep, sometimes to a point where I could not stop myself sleeping. Let me know if you want me to do some posts on how I deal/live with it ect. I don't really want to get into too much detail in this post.

What am I doing now?
Now I have been dealing with my depression and anxiety pretty well I would say although my OCD still needs some controlling at times, but I don't sleep as much as I used to so that's progress. Anyway I decided enough was enough and I dusted myself off, stood up tall and completely changed my outlook on things. I've gotten to the point of not caring what people think of me and I am actually really proud of how far I have come in the past 6 months, mostly on my own but also with the help of a few extremely close friends and family. I have completely changed my style, bought a whole new wardrobe, changed my hair and developed a positive, F*** you attitude.
Me and Oli still get along, we have our ups and downs, and as far as my 'Mental Health issues' I have my good and bad days but its looking good so I decided it was about time I got back into doing something I love and give myself back some structure and routine.

I hope you enjoyed this post, as I said it's just a quick post to get me back in the swing of things and update you all. If you would like future posts on anything I have mentioned above (except my break-up) then please feel free to leave a comment below and I will see what I can do! Here's a little snap of my new daring hair hope you like it.

Barry M Superdrug Summer Limited Edition Nail paints | Review

Hey Beauties...

I think it's pretty clear by now that I have a slight obsession with Barry M Nail Paints! I just can't get enough of them! So this summer Barry M have launched two more limited Nail Paints for us, exclusive to Superdrug. These two sun loving pastel bright colours are perfect for getting us into the spirit of the Great British Summer.

Promenade*
Barry M Promenade* | £3.99
Promenade is a stunning bright pastel pink which definitely screams summer to me! The formula is really nice, smooth and applies beautifully. I applied 2 generous coats to my nails to achieve my finish. You can apply just one coat if you prefer a more sheer finish.

Seaside*
Barry M Seaside* | £3.99
Seaside is a gorgeous bright pastel blue which actually does remind me of the Great British Seaside, im not too sure why as our ocean isn't that blue. The formula is the same as Promenade, nice, smooth and applies lovely. Again I applied 2 generous coats to my nails, which for me is enough, as one coat does come out quite sheer. I don't usually go for blue Nail polish but I really do love this colour.

These nail paint have a gorgeous pearl finish to them and just look stunning together or on their own. I definitely will be getting a lot of wear out of them this summer as I do think they bring the spirit of summer to the nails. The lasting power of these is quite impressive, with no top coat, lasted on my nails for a good 4 days before chipping! So I am pleased to say I am very impressed with the formula of these Nail Paints.

Overall I absolutely love these colours and really do recommend them if you are looking for a nice alternative to your summer pastel nails as these are a little more vibrant then most pastel shades.

As I mentioned these are Exclusive to Superdrug for a limited time only, while stocks last. Currently if you spend over £6 on Barry M you can choose one of these gorgeous Nail Paints. Offer ends July 1st 2014 so make sure you grab them quick!

Have you got your hands on these beauties yet? What are your thoughts on them? Let me know below!

Monthly Favourites | May 2014

Hey Beauties...
It's that time again! I can't believe May is over already! I honestly don't know where its gone!! So without delay let me show you all the lovely things I've been loving throughout the month of May.

Real Techniques Modern Natural Make-up Kit.

It's no surprise that this has made it into my monthly favourites, I do have both of them but I have found myself favouring this one more due to the everyday colours. The pigmentation of this kit is absolutely stunning! I admit I don't use the glosses in the palette but I have been loving the shadows the past month. Read my full review here.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer | Benefit Rockatur Blush

These two have featured in my favourites quite a few times since I received them for Christmas. Hoola really is just the perfect bronzer for all skin tones, I like to use it to contour. Rockateur Blush is a gorgeous rose gold shimmer blush which I think is perfect for summer and have really been loving wearing it along my cheek bones to give a gorgeous summer glow.

Benefit Big Easy Bigger Then BB Cream

I can't even begin to explain how much I love this product! I have been using it every day recently, it really is bigger then a normal BB cream and with spf 35 in definitely a must have for summer! So quick and easy to apply, gives a light gorgeous finish. I should have my review up soon.

Sleek Brow Stylist*

Usually for brows I use my Sleek Brow kit, but recently this little gem has been an absolute live saver, its so quick and easy to use, giving a stunning natural look. I love using this to quickly fill in my brows before the school run. Keep an eye out for my review.

Superdrug BB Eye Cream Concealer*

I'm always looking for ways to conceal and improve the appearance of my under eye area, this gem has been my favourite for the past month or so, its so easy to apply and brightens up the eye area like a dream. It's really light weight and doesn't crease under the eyes after a long period of time. You can read my full review here.

Sleek Lethal Length Mascara*

I have never tried a Mascara by Sleek Makeup before, and I can honestly say I don't  know why I haven't tried them sooner. This mascara has been my favourite since I first tried it! It really does give amazing length to the lashes and makes them look incredible! I was well and truly wowed by this mascara which is unusual for me to be honest. My review will be up soon!

Tanya Burr Lip Gloss

Well I don't think this is much of a surprise to be honest, I have absolutely been loving Tanya Burrs lipglosses ever since I bought one, I just had to purchase more! They are so creamy and the formula is amazing! plus they smell like strawberry laces which is another plus for me! I have been loving the lighter shades for the spring/summer. these are (left to right) Heart Skips a Beat, Just peachy, Picnic in the Park and Chic. Check out my full review here.

So that is everything I have been loving through the month of May! I'd love to know what your favourites have been, also if you have tried any of these products I'd love to know your thoughts on them.

Superdrug BB Eye Cream | Review

Hey Beauties...
I think we all know BB Creams have stormed the beauty world the past year or so, with CC Creams joining them. We knew it wouldn't be long till we saw BB and CC eye cream/Concealer take the shelves and today I bring to you Superdrugs own brand BB eye cream/concealer*. I'm always looking for way to brighten my eye area and haven't really tried any thing make-up wise from Superdrugs own brand before so I was excited to give this a go.

Superdrug claim this product is 5-in-1 which:
-Conceals inperfections and dark circles.
-Smooths appearances of fine lines.
-Bags and puffiness appear reduced.
-Boosts undereye radiance
-24 hour hydration

One little tube includes eye cream, primer and concealer for the under eye area, and contains a natural source of caffeince to help refresh, invigorate and revitalise the skin.

Definitely sounds like my kind of eye cream! The packaging is nice and simple, classic superdrug, I'd say, the product is bigger then I originally thought but that's nothing to grumble over, you do get 15ml of product in a squeezable tube, making it easy to dispense just the right amount of product.

Superdrug BB Eye Cream* | £6.99

I do love the applicator of the Eye Cream, its amost like a mini brush which dispenses the product allowing you to easily brush the product onto your eye area, I then like to use my fingers to pat in the product and buff in slightly with my buffing brush. The style of this BB Eye cream does remind me of Rimmel True Match Concealer which I love, so that's a bonus for me.

The cream is very smooth and a little runny which I think just adds to the ease of application. The product does apply beautifully and does feel really moisturising on the eye area, it also blends like a dream and is completely effortless, however due to the consistency of the product a little does go a long way so be careful not to apply too much.
I did receive the shade Light, which I am quite pleased about as I always like to go lighter under the eye area to make my face look more awake.

As you can see it really does cover my dark circles and brighten up the eye area, I always did feel that it reduced my puffy eyes and appearance of fine lines beautifully. I definitely think that it is moisturising under the eye and doesn't dry out the under eye area what so ever during the days wear, I would say lasts a good 6-8 hours without creasing on me.

Overall I am so impressed with this product and definitely does everything it claims to, if I'm completely honest I a little sceptical about the product, with it being Superdrugs own brand and me never trying anything from them before, but I was pleasantly surprised! It just shows never judge a book by its cover (or brand hehe). This product has definitely made it into my daily make-up routine and I love the fact that I don't need to apply an eye cream before applying under eye concealer as this is practically both in one! I will definitely repurchase this when I run out and will certainly be trying more beauty products from Superdrugs own brand!

You can get this product in all Superdrug stores or Online at superdrug.com, I couldn't find the link for the product at the moment so I think it may be currently out of stock so keep an eye out in your local superdrug store for it.

Have you tried this product yet? Or anything else from Superdrug own brand? If so I'd love to know what you thought of them!

Make-up Monday | Real Techniques Modern Natural | Day Eye Look

Hey Beauties...
For today's post I thought I would share with you a nice natural day time look that I have been loving recently, using my Real Techniques Modern Natural Make-up Kit which I reviewed yesterday (here). This look is really quick and simple to create and I think its a nice day-to-day simple smoky eye, perfect for summer.

How to:
1.Start off by applying 'Quicksand' to the inner corner of the eye, blending into the crease and tear duct area.
2. Apply 'Gold Metal' to the middle of the eye blending to the outer corner and crease.
3. Using a pencil brush apply 'Nightshade' to the crease and slightly bring down to the outer corner to create a 'V' shape.
4. very lightly and roughly apply 'caramel Mocha' to the outer corner of the eye, blend with 'Gold Metal' and slightly blend into the crease.
5. Finish off by applying 'Dark Chocolate' Gel eyeliner to the upper lash line.

As you can see the brown Gel Eyeliner helps with achieving a nice soft natural looking eye. Then lastly apply your favourite mascara I used Max Factors Clump Defy mascara.

For the lips I used Tanya Burr's Lip gloss in Picnic in the Park, which give a nice pink summer feel to the look.

So that's the completed Look, I didn't really do too much to my face as I wanted it to be light and summery, plus I have some sort of heat rash come up on my face and didn't want to irritate it. However I did use the blush and highlight from the kit just to add a bit of colour to my cheeks.

I hope you like this look, I'd love to know your thoughts on it. Also if you have this palette I'd love to see if you recreate this look or have one of your own you have created so please tag me in any pictures on instagram or twitter (dee_scott7) I love reading your thoughts and please let me know if you have any requests for future Make-up Monday posts.
